Albufeira Golf
Offering some of the finest golf in Europe, Albufeira has three main courses: the Balaia, Salgados and Sheraton Pine Cliffs. Below is a description of each course. To obtain further information on tariffs for green fees, equipment and lessons please click on the individual websites.
Balaia Golf Village
This
is a very attractive course which was designed by Southern Golf and opened in April
2001. The spectacular view from the first tee encompasses most of the course
with the sea as its backdrop.
Called an “Executive Course” because of its layout and challenges, this 9 hole , par 27 course is ideal for improving your iron shots and short game testing your ability to control the length and direction of the shot.
The course is 984 metres in length and the club amenities include a 60 base driving range, managed by a well known international Pro, covered bays for all-weather lessons or practice, practice bunkers and chipping and putting greens.
In the clubhouse there is a pro shop, reception, club hire, trolleys and rental locker facilities as well as a large sunny terrace which overlooks the course and a restaurant with a capacity for 120 diners.
Fifty minute lessons for 1 or 2 people can also be arranged.

Salgados Golf Club
An 18 hole course located behind the beautiful sandy beach of Praia de Gale,
the Salgados is very open to the elements with links to many water hazards that it requires a technically skilled player to achieve a good result from a round due to the prevailing onshore breeze.
Designed by Vasconselos and R Muir-Graves, this course opened in 1994. The length white is 6.080m, length yellow 5.640m, length blue 5.157m and length red 4.711m.
It is a traditional par 72 course with four par 3 holes and four par 5 holes. Tifton 419 Bermuda grass has been used for the fairways, Rye grass for the semi-rough, and Penn Cross for the greens.
The club has a driving range, putting green, chipping green and bunker area, pro shop, restaurant and bar.
Lessons for 1 or 2 people can be arranged, and there is also a golf clinic of 3 or 5 days duration. Golf buggies, manual trolleys and clubs are available for hire.

Sheraton Pine Cliffs
Situated
on the cliff top near Albufeira, the Pine Cliffs Golf Course offers spectacular
views along the coast. The ninth hole is over a ravine known as “Devil’s
Parlour” with views down to the long sandy beach.
This is a 9 hole course was designed by Martin Hawtree and is well maintained and surrounded by pine trees. It is a par 33 course which opened in 1991 with length white 2.274m, length yellow 2.051m and length red 1.784m.
The Sheraton Pine Cliffs club has its own driving range, putting and chipping greens, pro shop, tennis courts, restaurants and bars as well as a golf academy offering 25 or 50 minute lessons for adults, children or groups, as well as a golf clinic of seven lessons.
Clubs, golf shoes, electric and manual trolleys are all available for hire.
