The menu includes regional specialties like tuna salad, cataplana clams, bream and swordfish, as well as tournedos with mushrooms and Portuguese-style steak.

Aldar

Part of the Sheraton Hotel, this is a stylish restaurant specializing in Moroccan cuisine. Try the selection of six cold starters and three deep fried "Briouates" with lamb, seafood and spinach. For dessert, the Mille-feuille with rice cream, strawberries or ice cream and almonds.

Restaurante O Duarte

O Duarte is a traditional Portuguese restaurant which has been run by the same family since 1969. Fresh fish is bought daily from local fishermen and is on display for you to choose from specialities including Shrimps Rice, Fish Cataplana and Meat Cataplana, Grilled Squid, and Steak Duarte Style.

O Cabaz da Praia (The Beach Basket)

The Beach Basket is a French, Portuguese restaurant near the Hotel Sol e Mar, standing on a small square near the Church of São Sebastião. Housed in a former fishermen's cottage the restaurant has a large sheltered terrace with views over the main Albufeira beach. Main courses include such cassoulet of seafood, salade océane, monkfish with mango sauce, and beef filet with garlic and white-wine sauce.

La Cigale

Located on the beach about a 10 minute drive from Albufeira on the beach of the charming fisherman's village of Olhos d'Aqua, this restaurant has a very romantic setting with terraces overlooking the sea. For lunch and dinner La Cigale now offers free return transport within a radius of three kilometres (Açoteias, Balaia).

Specialities include clams a la Cigale, Maine lobster, tiger prawns, sole meunier, shellfish rice, steak with pepper sauce, sea bass and a daily selection of freshly caught fish.
